You are visiting the profile of a compassionate, loving, fun, passionate, honest, and adventurous lady. I am independent, free-thinking, financially secure, and emotionally stable. I am not looking for someone to take care OF me. I'm looking for someone to care FOR me.
Some important matters up front... I have two beautiful daughters. One away at university and one in high school. I like to be outdoors as often as possible, hiking, sailing, swimming, napping on the beach, etc. No way am I ready to leave Hawaii! If you've ever been here you may understand ;-}. However, I am beginning to realize I may be missing out on some very nice Mainland gentlemen living in my island paradise... Hmmm...
I enjoy intelligent, clever conversation, wine tasting, dancing (Latin, club, belly dance), reading, cultural events, and traveling. I retired from the US Air Force last year and now I am living one of my dreams: teaching yoga and earning a Master's Degree in a healthcare/athletic related field, and volunteering at a local high school's athletic department. Life is good! Now, I'm ready for "The One" to step into the picture so we can develop a partnership and life-long adventure.
Feeling feminine is important to me yet I am capable of getting my hands dirty with the best of them and I carry myself well in the company of men. I clean up rather well and am socially adept in a variety of settings (this is a CV---right?).
Choosing to associate myself with positive, like-minded people has brought me this far quite well. As skilled as I am at change, that is one trait I will not alter. Later for drama, negativity, narcissistic predispositions (healthy ego good--narcissism not so much...), violence, unethical behaviors, etc.
You may have noticed, in all of my photos I'm smiling like I won the lottery. I smile like crazy, not because I have stock in toothpaste, but because it is what pleases me. I like to laugh, love, and play! I am really as happy in those shots as I seem. In each one, I am doing something very special and singular. I remember each moment vividly.
No, I don't expect my partner to smile big and goofy like me, but I'll know he is smiling on the inside. In any relationship I make the effort to tune into my partner to better understand their needs and desires and to communicate mine. I do expect some reciprocity of course ;-}.
Oh yeah... I am Buddhist, a vegetarian, and happy with my choices. I do not push my views on others and respect many, many different points of view. Dogma in any form can be deadly. Just my perspective... Bottomline... Please don't try to convert me! I've been Christian. I've eaten animals till the cows came home (so to speak). Now, I make different choices. I welcome questions and even rationale discuss, but no sermons please. Namaste ;-}.

The man I am looking for is trustworthy, a good communicator, compassionate, intelligent, emotionally strong, and stable. Like me, he is fun loving, outgoing, and a little adventurous. My ideal partner really "gets" me and my outlook on life and I, his. We are in sync (at least most of the time) on issues that are most important to us such as spirituality, politics, finances, and sex. We respect our differences and celebrate our similarities.
I prefer tall men even though I am only 5'2". And of course, gentlemen are well respected here! I try to live in a manner that inspires gentlemanly behavior without being a diva or a princess.
Speaking of respect, please do not contact me if you just want to play head games, have Internet sex, or cheat on your significant other. I am not a prude (by a long shot!), but I'd rather discuss wine tasting, football (go Niners!), dancing, sailing, books, personal goals, or world travel to get to know each other. Everything has a time and place with the RIGHT person... Besides, there are other web sites for that nonsense.

No disrespect to any of you incredible men outside of the West Coast, but that is about as far as I want to seriously "converse." While I am open to friendship, I really am looking for THE ONE. I don't want to set myself up for disappointment as I'm not prepared to commute/relocate farther than the West Coast. I do have to admit a few of you have had me thinking of long coats and snow boots... Maybe YOU are prepared to relocate ;-}?
To my military brethren (of all flavors)... Good on you for going after what you really want! I remember what it use to be like in the 80's--'nuff said...;-}.
