How would you describe yourself?
Physically I am a short, curvy white girl with blue eyes (and glasses), full lips and long blond hair. My waist is small and I have a great rack and reasonable read end. I also have extensive tattoos (covering more than 50% of my body) which many people find very unattractive but hopefully you won't hold against me.
I have a developed intellect and lots of sass and moxxy. I am an artist (mostly illustration, stencils/spray can stuff and painting as well as some mixed media) as well as a college girl working towards my degree in cultural anthropology (my main interests are ethnology, ethnobotany and ethnozoology). I am a voracious reader and harbor an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
In addition to being a smarty pants I am a very caring and compassionate. I am excellent at taking care of the people I love. I am also a bitchin' cook (my best dishes are green chili chicken tamales, meyer lemon meringue pie, kaffir lime sorbet with fried bananas and thai coconut tapioca, grilled quail and baby back ribs). My friends frequently jest that I am destined to be a housewife because of appreciation for tidiness, proficiency in the kitchen and love and ability performing killer blow jobs. On this note, I also used to pay the bills by being a porn actress and scantily clad pinup girl. While I don't do this anymore and prefer my private life to be just that... Private... I am also not interested in men who find this appalling and shameful or overly exciting. I only put this out here because if it is a dealbreaker for you, I'm not interested in wasting my time. It may be a bit out of the ordinary but it was just a job, one that paid well for not having a degree at the time.
I love music and have an extensive record collection (punk, metal, hip hop and outlaw country). If I grabbed a random stack of my lps (lets pretend for the sake of variety that they aren't meticulously organized by alphabetical order by band and then by release date) it might include Sex Vid, ADD/C, Drunken Boat, Bone Thugz, Hank Sr., Tupac, Hooky, Hicky, Three 6 Mafia, Tough Junky, John Prine and Pentagram. I have sang in a few punk bands and I play drums badly.
I also collect bones and taxidermy.
Now that I've gone on and on about how awesome I am, I can tell you that I am a total homebody. I hate dancing and don't go to clubs except to see a musician or band play. I take extremely good care of the people I love, but before I've decided I'm full committed (either romantically or platonically) I've been accused of being cold, distant and honest to a brutal fault. I also am extremely independent. I like to spend a lot of time by myself and easily feel 'crowded'.
The things I value in relationships are intellectual, emotional and physical chemistry, honesty and full disclosure, kindness, great communication skills, safe sex and humor. Also important is the ability to spend time together not talking or doing our own things comfortably. I love witty banter, but silence is equally nice sometimes.
I am not a stickler for monogamy (although if I fall super in love with someone and they insist on it, I am willing to consider it), I despise jealousy, fighting, lying and being inconsiderate. I am not searching for love but if those tingly amazing pheremonal fireworks go off, I'll certainly embrace is with open arms.
I am looking for
I am interested in a few things. First and foremost, someone who is fun to date, secondly, good friends and, pen pals who currently live or have grown up in Africa, especially Mali, Niger, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana. I also very much want to learn to speak Swahili, fulani (particularly eastern-central niger woodabe dialect) tamashek (tuareg), hadza. I am also interested most African macrolanguages of the nilo-saharan, afro-asiatic (hausa) and maybe niger-congo varieties (zulu, shona). I'd be a eager pupil or happy to swap lessons (I'd be happy to teach English, as well as some other subjects... If this is something you'd be interested in just let me know what you want to learn and if I have adequate knowledge about the subject we can work it out).
In my dream world the man I'd end up with is a ridiculously tall, articulate, intellectual black man with a wicked sense of humor and a healthy love of books. For extra super bonus points he'd be artistically or musically inclined. He should have interests he is passionate about, regardless of what they are. He should be into adventure and exploring. Does hitchhiking around Peru or Argentina sound fun to you? How 'bout extensive travel in Niger or Mali? Being a bio-med researcher in remote Papua New Guinea? If so, we should probably get along well. I don't care how much money someone has, what their job is, or how advanced a degree they hold, as long as they are happy and self education is important to them..
While in reality clothing in no way makes the man, the style of dress I find most attractive on a guy is a pair of pants that fits (not enormous, but not nut-huggers either), a flannel shirt over a worn in T-shirt and with inexpensive canvas sneakers and perhaps a practical hat. To me it is the kind of style that says a man is low key, comfortable, pragmatic and not afraid to get dirty, and it is those qualities I find sexy.
My idea of a fun date is cooking a man dinner than playing scrabble, painting or making a bonfire on the beach followed by a good hot n' heavy makeout sesh. I like eating out at restaurants and going to art openings and the like as well, but I'm not a huge fan of big groups of people.
My relationship deal breakers are an inability to spell and use (mostly) proper grammar, a fondness for emoticons and any usage of ironic bumper stickers. I also think the 'flirts' part of this website is beyond cheesy and I'm much more likely to respond if you send me a thoughtful and personal email.
