Have you encountered more hooking up than actual dating?
Hooking up is a common thing among most singles… especially those who have been single a little too long… meeting someone at the bar or a friends party and suddenly you are just make out – JUST.
During the post-divorce/post-relationship era, most people find it quite difficult to dip their toes into the dating pond. And with the post-divorce baggage dragging you down, you may find yourself not going on a lot of dates. Not ready. But when you meet someone, maybe at a party, you end up kissing and making out.
For most singles, a hookup is a lot simpler compared to dating (which can be a little exhausting at times). You go on dates if there is potential for the both of you developing a deeper relationship. But when you are looking for just a hookup, some harmless fooling around, then all you need is the hookup. For most, hookups are a substitute to dating especially when you are not really interested in someone as a long-term option.
Does this mean that hooking up has replaced actual dating? Much as most of us would prefer taking this short cut to getting laid, there are those who still date. I guess its all about what you are looking to achieve. So if you feel you are not ready to date, get a hook up once in a while when you feel those hormones raving. Am sure in time, you will bump into someone who might change your mind about dating.

I’d love to be able to have a sexual buddy but I don’t think it’s possible for me because it’s the connection to the person I’m making love with that’s most important for me.

Hook ups are good once in a while. I wouldn’t make a regular habit out of it, but they can be fun every now and then - no strings attached, no complications. And sometimes they even lead to something longer lasting.

When you like someone a lot, on a hookup or a date, you usually end up making out anyway. So how can you tell the difference if its a hookup or a date?
Hookin up is a good way to date, you can imediatly tell if the person is good in bed. Cuz what if you wait for 6 dates, end up in bed and it is dissapointing, is this still going to be the person you spend your life with and have dissapointing sex for the rest of your life? It is all in perceptive, hookin up and dating, are you makin a true-false thing out of it?

Sorry but hookups are for those who have no respect for themselfs-and alot of men and women if they know you will do one niters or whatever just for a quick fix won’t have anything to do with that person-so i agree with reyne-i’m not gonna settle for less than what i want.
