Conservative Racists Uncomfortable About the Newly Crowned Black Miss USA 2016

Posted by Ria, 13 Jun

Miss District of Columbia, Deshauna Barber, won the Miss USA pageant after her exemplary answer to a question about women in the military. She is a Logistics Commander for the 988th Quartermaster Detachment Unit at Fort Meade, Md. However some racist conservatives are not happy about her because of her skin color and her answer to the question:

"The Pentagon recently made the decision to open up all combat jobs to women. Now some have questioned whether this has put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform at the highest level. What are you[r] thoughts", one of the judges asked Barber. To which she replied: “As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military. We are just a tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I’m powerful, I am dedicate. Gender does not limit us in the United States.”

Now much as the phrase "tough as men" has rubbed some people in the wrong way because to conservatives, it doesn't matter how capable a woman is - they feel women shouldn't serve in the military, they shifted focus from this issue to the fact that she is Black and was crowned Miss America.

What are you looking for?

The way Fox News contributor Tucker Carlson’s propaganda machine, the Daily Caller, presented this win to their readers felt like they were fishing for controversy:

"Did someone from your state win Miss USA?

This Woman Was Just Crowned Miss USA 2016 Minutes Ago

'Thank you...'"

And the bashing of the newly crowned beauty queen began... Some said she aint pretty enough to be crowned Miss America in comparison to Miss Hawaii. Some just laid their racism out in the open - that she is Black.

"Not my choice! Miss Hawaii was my choice! And there is a Miss Black America, so why don't the black girls enroll in that pageant?"

"so I assume a white girl will be winning the Miss Black American title.... no? ... Why? no white girls allowed? sounds very racist and discriminatory to me."

"...I saw the white girl, Miss Hawaii and knew that she had no chance of winning. My husband thought I was crazy. I said she had no chance. Look at what they did to the Oscars. They will be afraid not to pick the black girl from District of Columbia. She may be a nice woman, but not as beautiful as Miss Hawaii. I was right - Obsma's world"

"WHY DID SHE WIN>>CAUSE SHE IS BLACK???TO SHUT UP RADICAL BLACKS????"

The main sentiment was that she didn't get it because of her beauty. They 'handed' it to her only because she is black. Just last month, racists were on Malia Obama's case saying she got into Harvard only because she is black. When will racists get it into their heads that blacks are just as capable?

You have got no other problems as a racist discussion about a miss America contest winner ? My view from Germany is different, be careful with Trump he will bring you back to times when Germany was in the Middle Ages. So be happy with that beauty.

" beauty is not found on the outside, but it rests peacefully deep within one's heart!"...remember, as the scriptures say, " we are all created in His image & likeness..."

American being a multi cultural country regardless of skin colour Miss World should not be targeted. It is a small % of individuals who resort to the colouring of her skin, but is is amazing when exposed as being a racist how quickly the small % individuals would deny being a racist. Think before expressing your opinion.

You say that she was chosen be she is black. Why didn't you racists say anything when they were choosing girls just because they were white? Now you know how it feels. And besides she is a beautiful woman.

This is just another left wing article designed to promote hate and racism. It is obviously my a very biased 'author'.... there are white racists, black racists, asian racists, and hispanic racists, liberal racists, and conservative racists... but all of them are a minority in their respective ethnic backgrounds and political leanings. To lump all racists as conservative or all conservatives as racists is just plain poppycock and very sketchy 'reporting'. Congradulations to the new Miss USA and keep this as an interracial dating site... not a political editorial page.

Deshauna Barber won the Miss USA pageant not only because she is beautiful, but she is intelligent, confident and poised in a high pressure situation.

We have had several Miss America's that were Black. To not expect negative comments from some people is ridiculous. what does it matter what some people say? Are we still so sensitive that this is actually news? She is still Miss America, she will still go on, like the others have done to do her job as Miss America. The media continues to make news like this a big deal when it's not. It's the media that is spurring racism, not those that are racist. Racism is alive and well and will always be. It's impossible to make everyone believe the same thing. People are free to think what they want to think. They are THEIR thoughts. As long as you have a multitude of people, there will be a disparity of opinions. So what? Some people need to grow a pair and ignore anyone that tries to put obstacles in their way of achieving goals.

Please stop making blanket statements about a group or race. This site is meant to bring other races together, not divide. I am Conservative, and don't consider myself a racist, etc. I love Black women and support them in every way. Stereotyping a group is racist in itself. I wish i could actually block these negative articles. Please try to post uplifting articles. Racism does exist, i get it, but i would rather see more positive in every facet of life.

I agree! These "all conservatives are racist and/or uncle Toms" articles have kind of driven me off the site a bit. Most blacks are actually rather "conservative", myself included. I come here for fun & networking --not to be insulted. I wonder if they will post an editorial regarding the racist remarks Democratic Sanders supporters kept hurling at blacks and Latinos for backing Clinton during the Primary rather than "feeling the Burn". Lol, of course we won't get THAT article.

Why are Conservatives branded as racists. The evidence is exactly the opposite in history. Here are some examples. Republican party was started as an abolitionist party, the military was first segregated in 1914 by the Democratic president Wilson, and segregation in the military ended with Eisenhower. The republican party also embraced civil rights. However George Wallace's 1963 Inaugural Address, a Democrat said "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever". So who ever wrote this obviously doesn't know what the they are talking about. The plain and simple truth is the vast majority of people don't see color.
