Hulk Hogan fired over using N-word to describe daughter's boyfriend
The legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan was fired on Friday after a recording - in which he angrily used the "N" word on his 2012 sex tape to describe a man his daughter was dating - leaked. On the tape, Hogan repeatedly used the "N" word while talking about an African-American guy his daughter was dating.
The WWE released a statement Friday morning saying, "WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide." They also removed Hogan from the WWE Superstars page, and the Hall of Fame member or alumnus. Hogan's merchandise was also pulled, and his name was taken off the judges' list on WWE's reality show Tough Enough.

Hogan admitted to making the racist remarks and asked for forgiveness saying:
"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation," Hogan tells Us Weekly. "It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs. It is not who I am. I continue to work every day to improve as a person, and this matter is an important learning experience for me in that regard. As a result I am resigning from my contractual relationship with the WWE."
