I know my pal is cheating on my pal

Posted by Ria, 23 Sep 07

Imagine this.....A married friend of yours confesses that she’s cheated on her husband. She then claims it was just a one-off drunken fling. Although since she admitted it, word has it she is still doing it. The biggest problem is that you are also close friends with the husband!

This is one of the most difficult situations to ever find yourself in. Don’t even get me started on the other issues being raised… not only about views on fidelity but also the friendships you have to keep and most importantly help to resolve the situation. On one hand, you want to be loyal to your girlfriend and keep her infidelity a secret… but then again, letting her get away with it means you've played your part in hurting her husband., your friend.

Peeps, I am in such a situation and the fact that I am friends with her husband complicates things further. Who should I be loyal to between the two? Truth be told, I have been made to keep a secret I didn’t want to be told in the first place. I am in between a rock and a hard place… and I feel like there are guns pointing at me on both ends.

Your perfect partner could be online right now...

What are you looking for?

Should I interfere or just butt out?

I would leave it alone to a point but let her know she better tell him for someone else does.

Tell your friend to come clean or you're not going to keep the secret anymore.

I would tell her how I felt, and like everyone else said, stay out of it. It's like that old saying...what's done in the dark, will come out in the light.

You may find yourself missing two friends, or worse yet, caught in the middle of an intolerable situation if you interfere. Best to just pretend you know nothing. My two cents, your mileage may vary.

Tell your girl friend she is wrong and how you feel about her actions. Then step away from the situation. As deeann says "mind your own businees." and stay out of their marriage.

This is like the easy thing in the world to do. All you have to do is stop being around your friend, because she is not your friend. Women who do dirt, and lets keep this real, knew excatly what they were doing. To put you in the situation by telling you, well she isn't your friend, nor is she a real woman(sorry, I am brutally honest). If a woman does dirt, she keeps it to herself, it's no ones business what she has done. Guilt, is the lame excuse women use to say "well I did blah..blah". No such thing, if you do the deed, then you keep it to yourself. You don't blab it to your best friend, you don't tell your mama your daddy, your sister, cousin whoever. You fix your weave, adjust your skirt, check your stands and keep it moving. Of course you go to the Doctor, if it was a risky liason and make sure you get all the proper todo's done. In the meantime you figure out a way to live with what you have done, and if you feel you can't do it. You show that respect to your mate and tell him or her what you have done. Nothing hurts more, than when a mate has done wrong and then everyone else knows about it, and that person feels like a complete fool. That is why relationships break up so brutally, interference. Step back from ole girl, let her know how you feel, let her know you will support her thru out whatever, but to lay this on you WRONG! The only reason why she told you is because she enjoyed what she was doing anyway, and somthing is wrong at home to make you want go to the left. Till the next episode, I'm out!

If she treats her husband with such disrespect, think how she will treat her friends. Don't be a coward...be true to yourself and your values and do the right thing.

Mine your own business. Before, you are left completely out in the cold.
