Mixed is the future - Kanye West interview

Posted by Ria, 07 Oct 15

Kanye West did an interview lately for like 2 hours... and he spoke about almost everything. And like always, he spoke his mind... and on his interracial relationships.

Well, we remember Kanye and his rants about how people hate his interracial relationship years back; saying how it took a whole two years for people to understand his interracial relationship with Kim Kardashian saying: "You have to be able to take the lashes of people not understanding.... you have to take the lash and be able to swim in the backlash"

Your perfect partner could be online right now...

What are you looking for?

Well, this time around, Kanye really made a lot of sense on the interracial front. And I am sure most of us here will agree. No rants; just keeping it real:

"I see the future as people being mixed. Other races are really attracted to each other and always have been. But, I was taught to never bring a white girl home when I was 8 years old, but I liked white girls. I liked black girls too, but I also liked white girls, but it was such a taboo."

And that's our future... black/white, black/brown, white/yellow... in all mixed colors. And whether we like it or not, whether our parents scream "DON'T BRING A WHITE/BLACK BOY/GIRL HOME" or not, this is our world now. Mixed is our world now. Mixed is our future. Lets embrace this this diversity.

Ive never dated a black man in my life. I have cousins that date white females yet have an issue with my choice of partner, sometimes I just think its one rule for some and another rule for others. This whole issue is shocking to me to be honest

If my future consists of IR dating with a woman as fine as Kim K, that's cool with me. I wouldn't act like Kanye though, but I do understand what he says about IR relationships. I wish I had a dollar for every militant black man or angry black woman who's said something or rolled his or her eyes when they saw me just simply carrying on a conversation or walking with a woman of another race. Especially if it's a (gasp!) white woman! But opposites attract sometimes and forbidden fruit can be ripe and sweet.
