Should races mix? This is usually the real issue behind interracial marriages. Is it a question of religion, ethics or scientific nature?
I was shocked one day to find out that some people see being biracial as unethical. Some do feel that interracial marriages are not unethical but plain sinful. So why do people see mixing of races as an ethical problem?
According to wikipedia.com an “Interracial marriage is a form of Exogamy᾿ which is marrying outside of one’s social group. So does that mean that the question of inequality arises whenever we talk of interracial marriages? I have never encountered any problem with interracial marriages or families. So if I start making it an ethical question, then that makes my very existence an ethical question.
Some supremacists label interracial unions unnatural … they imagine that in some way it’s against God’s will. People have even quoted and misinterpreted the Bible over this. However, if you read of the Bible well, the only type of warning against interracial marriage is actually a scripture warning believers not to marry non-believers.
So why should people make who is marrying whom their business? We are all guaranteed equal rights so marriage between any two people in the U.S. or indeed anywhere should be of no ethical concern. What was unethical were the laws against interracial marriages in some States which were abolished at late as the 1950’s.
These were laws enforced to keep one race dominant over the others… this was all political (e.g. Nazi Germany, Chile under the U.N. appointed General Augusto Pinochet, South Africa under Apartheid, and in many of the Southern states in the U.S. [Dorfman].)
So it all boils down to one thing … politics and possibly class if you would like to put it that way. It’s kinda like when you bring your girlfriend home, and your parents refute your relationship because she is from a poor family. But here is the thing, there is nothing unethical about interracial unions… its not like you will have murdered someone by being in an interracial relationship. Its just a personal choice. So let’s keep it that way.
As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end.

I am of Indian race who is Muslim and my partner is Jamaican and Christian, we are both british. We have been together many years and are happy. Some people have a problem with our way of life but we really dont care as we make each other happy.
You should be able to date who you want as love goes beyond race and religion.

When , I came to this site I did not seek any race . I had been on three other date Ting sites and what I seeked was a companion for life . The only specific difference I was looking for was gender . I got lucky when finally a Beautiful Ladie said ” Yes , I will be your wife for life .” This being an inter-racial date Ting site does not necessarily mean that I could not have been choosen by a women of Polish heritage such as myself . On I.C.Q. / I had been talking years ago to a Ladie of Russian birth , that did not come to pass . On several sexually oriented sites , I had flirted with many to no success . In conclusion there is more to life than all things being Racial as I came only to find a Ladie and being of lower income / it took 4-5 years . NOT mixing with other races as far a Euro Americans go it not always related to racism. It has do with culture and relating to your where you come from. All cultures have wonderful things to offer their children. Mixing takes away from ethnic identity. Children of white and what ever, hardly ever look European, so it is harder for Euro relatives to relate to them. Along with not mixing not having to do racism. Most Euro people are more attracted to each other the offspring are more attractive the Europeans and Euro Americans than that of a mixed offspring. It seems to me that non-Europeans are so obsessed with white people and think about them way to much.

I am a very proud Black woman, but even as I proudly embrace my people and that which is our cultural heritage, I cannot deny that Ethnicity is a creation of man. As Sammy_d_Luv says “We are all of one Blood!!”. Please realize that, from a scientific persecutive, there would not be a classification of “Race” if we never left the motherland (now known as Africa). African, Asian, Caucasian–we’re all derivatives of the very same paternal source. Some of us look the way we do because our bodies had to adopt to our respective locations to sustain life there. Some of us continued to shrink our gene pool by limiting our choices to those who only looked like “us”. At the end of the day, we are all male and female–regardless of what ethnic group we are born in. We have so much to share with one another. God loves us not one of us differently from the other. We all have the legacy of his image. We must teach our children to grab on to that legacy; to learn to open their hearts and minds to all things (same and different), because that is how we stay true to who we are as human beings. That is how we evolve.

First of all, there really is no such thing as “races”. There is one race, the human race.
as far as “mixing goes”, it has been happening since the beginning of time, and will continue until the end of time.
If we are truthful, we ALL are mixed in some way. My great-grandfather was white, and we also have spanish, asian, indian etc in my family, even though i am Black.

Perhaps the question should be worded differently.
An even bigger question is “Why would the Author of this Blog Article use Wikipedia (UNscholarly source) to derive/define definitions about interracial marriages?”

Hi. I am happy to see the over-all enlightened tone of this blog/post and that most people are unthreatened by the concept of race, which has been called man’s most dangerous myth.
The only people that fear the concept are those sad individuals who are under the ignorant illusion that there exists some sort of superiority in pigentation or the lack there of.
One look at the KKK will tell you that there is obviously no such think as white supremacy.Them and the American Nazi are against all human association with Asians, Latin Americans, Jews, Native Americans and Africans of any kind.
How uptight would you have to be to dits the entire world for those that supposedly belong to your own little group.
The obvious fact that they are ignoring(especially southerners) is that they are definately part black. Hey, we all are.Lets hope these people don’t figure it out because some of us, myself included, are the product of continued mixes going back centuries.
