Now, when I first wrote that, I had not heard of “The Secret“. Since then, let’s just say it’s not really a “secret” anymore. I paid $4.95 to watch the entire video on line at www.TheSecret.tv. I’ve seen the DVD extended version, I’ve read the book and I own the book version on CD. Why? Let me tell you.
I have always been a big believer in the power of attraction (and I don’t mean physical attraction). I always stop and listen to Wayne Dyer when I see him on PBS talking about energy and “the source”. However, even though I read a lot and truly believe that we are all connected to each other and the things we want, I didn’t realize to what magnitude.
Little things like thinking of someone that you haven’t heard from in a while, and the phone rings or you get an email from them. This happens to me all the time. Last week, I was thinking about a friend from middle school. My children were getting on my nerves and I’d remembered that she had six kids, and wondered how in the world does she do it?
I promise you that it was exactly, two days later that I got this message on MySpace from this young girl that said… “Hey, you know my mom, she says that she use to burn popcorn at your house…do you know who she is?” It had been over ten years and five states, and with one thought within 48 hours, it was if no time had pasted at all. This happens to me ALL the time.
The secret about “The Secret” is not that no one knows. We all know. It’s just that we don’t apply the principles or do the work that needs to be done to bring us what we want. Think of it like going out to eat. You can’t just walk into a restaurant, order what you want, then leave…expecting your food to come find you.
Better example, you can’t just come to a website, put up a profile, maybe a picture and just wait for your soul mate to feel the energy from your presence and reach out to you. You have to know what you are looking for, maybe not down to the mole over their left butt cheek, but the important stuff. How they look, what they believe in, do they like children, lions, tigers and bears…oh my.
Once you know what you’re looking for, it becomes so much easier to find it. How many times have you gotten up from a very comfortable position to go do something and a few minutes into your search, you forget the reason why you got up? Feeling stupid, you go sit back down, only to realize a few minutes later, “I was going to the bathroom”. So, you get back up again.
Same thing. People come on dating sites not sure what they will find, do some of the work, and then forget what they came on the site for. Then get upset ‘cause they never find it. The “secret” is, they probably ran across that special someone a few times, but because they were not clear on what they wanted, the special someone was attracted (by law), to someone else that was.
So, try this. Write down exactly what you want. You can even post a copy up on your profile. Then look for other profiles that match what you wrote down. Then, it’s not over yet, send them an email and point out the things you both have in common and then…wait!
Now while you are waiting, you’re not just sitting by the computer taping your fingers. No, you are out there becoming the best you that you can be. You are preparing your mind, body and spirit for that close to perfection mate that you asked for. Remember that we can’t ask for something that we are not prepared to give. If you want to attract the best person to you, you’ve got to be the best person for them.
It’s not just about “positive thinking”. It’s about positively ACTING. So, what is the big “secret”? It’s putting into the universe exactly what you want, not just what you think you deserve and making sure that everything in your life is ready for it to arrive. NO LIMITS!!!

What an honest statement Kenyanito. The thing is, we can be open to love and still have fun encouraging each other at the same time. You never know when love will come knocking at your door. In my case, it was someone 6’3 in a soldiers army uniform. Nothing like a man in uniform…WOO HOO!

I AM WITH THE SOLDIER DEAR! We are having a blast, and after 20 years in the military, he just informed me that he wants to retire. All I can say is GOD BLESS HIM, and all the other soldiers out there putting their lives on the line for us!
