Tamera Mowry called a 'White man's whore'

Posted by Ria, 13 Jan 14

tamera mowry adam housleyTamera Mowry has endured her fair share of racist comments online for marrying a White man. She has been married to Fox News Channel correspondent Adam Housley for the past three years. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Tamera opened up about how she has been bombarded with racism and ignorance since marrying Housley, with tears as she gave details of the hurtful and unbelievably racist online comments.

Tamera revealed:

I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life. I get called, ‘White man’s whore,’ the new one, ‘Back in the day, you cost $300 but now you’re giving it to ‘em for free.’ Stuff that, me as a person, could never even fathom. I can’t even think of these words. It’s very hard for me to think of it because I’m a product of it. My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is an amazing white man. I grew up seeing a family. I didn’t grow up seeing, ‘ooh a n**** with a white person!’ So it’s very shocking to go through this.

Your perfect partner could be online right now...

What are you looking for?

This was the big one. They say, ‘Oh Tia’s a true black woman because she married a black man.’ Oh? I’m lesser of a black person because I married white?

Tamera and her twin sister Tia have been doing a reality show Tia and Tamera which they announced that they would no longer be continuing with. Maybe the nasty comments could be the reason why.

But even with the torrid of racist comments, she is very proud that she married a man based on love. She has never let the racism get her down saying: “I love my husband so much. I love my family. I love our dynamic. I’m proud to be in the relationship I am in because it’s based on love. Pure love.”

Its sad to see how interracial couples, especially celebrity interracial couples, are such a target of so much unnecessary hate. Posting such hurtful words on social media is so heart breaking. Why can’t haters just let others be? Aren't we all human? Watch the emotional segment below:

Dry your tears sweet beautiful Tamera, and thank God every day that you found love. Real human beings rejoice when they see that, and make no issue of the colors involved. Real people rejoice, the opinions of the others don't matter. If you must cry then shed tears of joy.

Tamera please don't let the ignorance of people get the best of you . People can be very jealous of the fact that you are very famous and they want to try to tear you down . Tamera continue to live your life and be happy about your choices love the fact that you can choose who you want to be married too and make your life complete regardless of the skin color . I have experience some of the same with people because I am extremely attracted to white women and I choose to date because of my preference not what others have to say about it. So stay strong you don't have to justify your choices for people to give approval about your happiness.

That is a shame. First, she is just as white as she is black, so the logic behind the hate is mega retarded. More importantly, who she decides to love is no ones business but her own.

It is hard to believe that people are still fighting "the Civil War". I am from a mixed family, having a grand mother that is white...but i never experienced or heard stuff like that when she would take me and my sibling out and about back in the day...I am talking about over 40 years ago.

First off there are A LOT of idiots out there. Those idiots come in all colors, so it is better to defend people of personal merit rather than just something so shallow as skin color.

You never know how ignorant people are until they open their mouths. To say something so harsh to a sweetheart like Tamera angers me. True love does not require certain color. You can't help who you fall in love. I'm happy for Tamera & I love her family.

Tamera don't worry anymore or feel bad because your married to white man so what that he is white. He is man and you woman. Your mother is black and dad is white and they was together from the 70s and still together. Please Tamera don't let this get to you they are jealous. I love white men and i don't have problem marry a white man. I think that interracial love and marriage is totally 100% lovely. White men love black women trust and believe that. Nissa.

I am sadden by the comments made by people who have felt it is their right to tell her who to love. I am proud of her for finding LOVE and not allowing bigots to dictate what they consider to be a negative betrayal of what a family or a marriage is. I have been blessed to find a wonderful man (Irish/Italian) who has never seen color and has always treated me with respect and unconditional love. He loves me so much that I can feel it for the first time in my life. Loving him feels like home to me and it is the safest place I want to be. I thank God for him everyday to have found someone who when I think about him I am so overwhelmed with emotions that I cry (tears of joy). Jesus Christ always gives gifts that are far beyond what you imagine. God Bless

My heart goes out to you, I know that Christ will shelter you from these horrible things, I also believe that your love for one another is stronger than anything that comes before you. Keep your faith, hold on to one another; and remember, nothing can destroy what God has made! You are a beautiful couple, and you are blessed by Christ! Have no fear!
