Tiffany jewellers features gay couple in ad
This is the campaign by Tiffany jewelers that shows seven scenes of different couples shot by photographer Peter Lindberg. And one the seven couples stands out most: A same sex couple.
Apparently, this is the first time Tiffany is depicting a same sex couple in an ad campaign and this particular shot is arousing widespread praise for the jewelers. And what's making it even more arousing is that the two, hot, photogenic men are a REAL couple. But much as its the first time for Tiffany, other advertisers like Honey Maid, Ray-Ban, Cheerios have done it before.

As more states and and the federal government continue to acknowlege the legitimacy of same-sex marriages, we expect to see more and more ads of this nature. And these ads are one more step towards the right direction: one more step on the long road to giving such couples the rights they deserve.
In a statement, Tiffany rep Linda Buckley told Elle.com that love stories comes in different forms. And I guess that's the statement being put across by the ad:
"Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear, and true love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms. The Tiffany engagement ring is the first sentence of the story that a couple will write together as they create a life that is deeply intimate and exceptional, which is the message we hope to convey through this campaign."
Does the color or sexual orientation matter? No! All that matters is the love, respect and commitment they have for one another.
Do you think the ad will cause a public outcry like the Cheerios ad featuring a mixed family?
