It has been alleged that his latest sex scandal has sparked off debate among Black Americans on interracial dating. Much as this has been ignored in the media coverage of his infidelities, his marriage to a white model and the fact that the other three… four… six women (the number keeps growing ;-) ) he is allegedly having affairs with are also white, hasn’t escaped African Americans.

In this age and era, when you see such headlines about criticism against interracial dating, it’s a bit unimaginable. Sometimes I even wonder where people get these stories because the people I bump into don’t care who one dates.

Anywho, on the Tom Joyner radio show for instance, a satirical song was played saying: “The question everyone in America wants to ask you is, how many white women does one brother want?"

Much as Woods once described himself as "Cablinasian" (Caucasian, black, Indian and Asian) – in a bid to show his blend of ethnicities – most Americans hail him as the black sports star. The issue isn’t even about his infidelities; but that in addition to his blonde Swedish wife, his mistresses are white. All this is a reflection of black’s resistance to interracial relationships.

But is this representative of the sum total of Black American? REALLY?

    This is a discussion?!? Really??? Man is unfaithful to wife... new news??? Man with lots of money is indulging himself in whatever ways he chooses with whatever women he chooses whenever he chooses to do so... new news??? Wife is now having her personal pain broadcasted internationally in all forms of media... more rare, but still not new news... and the 'discussion' here is about alienation due to skin color?!? If there is such as thing as a 'black community', I would think they would be quite comfortable being 'alienated' from an arrogant, insensitive, and crass whoremonger. ... anyway, how does one feel alientated from some entity they never had anything do with in the first place?

    Tiger Woods is the Blasian version of Boris Becker. Although I like Boris Becker a lot better. Did the German White community feel alienated when Boris Becker married a Black woman and had affairs with Black women and is now remarried to a Black/mixed woman?

    I'm a mature black woman and I personally think the Black Community needs to come into the this Century with their thoughts. Interracial relationships, couples and families ARE NOT going anywhere. Yes, he was dead wrong to treat HIS WIFE like that but you can't stop your preferences in your life. GET A LIFE AND GROW UP.

    The Black Community should not feel alienated by Tiger's choice of Caucasian women as Tiger has the right to choice what race or ethnicity that pleases him just like anyone else. Spite Tiger's infidelities he still is one of the greatest golfers and that cannot be taken from him. Tiger is not the first sports figure to have infidilities and he will not be the last. I pray that he gets through this and get back to one of the things that makes him happy: playing golf!

    It is all about chance,opportunity and compatibility.Tiger had the chance to meet the white women and so he went for them.And the idea of trash and sophistication further alienates a section of women.May be the "trashness" turns woods on and does the trick.He should not fear,the only sin he has committed is that of unfaithfulness,the wife may choose to forgive and stay or move on.Hillary clinton protected her husband,why can't Tiger's wife do the same? I am of the opinion that may be,just may be Tiger finds true love in white women than in black women.And the hypocrites out there should stop whinning about the number of women,how many women are wishing to meet woods and have a go on him?THE FELLOW WAS ONLY BEING SYMPATHETIC TO THE WOMEN WHO APPROACHED HIM,perhaps. We must talk about woods because he is a celebrity world over,he is our icon,we and the media created him to what he is.It is utter denial to say that his business is not ours,IT IS PURELY OUR BUSINESS.

DeNiro's first wife is Diahnne Abbott (born January 1, 1945), sometimes credited as Diahnne Eugenia Abbott/Diahnne Déa, is an African-American actress and singer. Abbott played supporting roles in films of the 1970s and 1980s, including Taxi Driver. They had a son together, Raphael and De Niro adopted Drena, Abbott's daughter from a previous marriage. Actor Gregory Abbott is her cousin.

    Sorry for the typos earlier, but another thing... I feel sorry for him. If I was a young man paraded around the golf courts in all my spare time, what would I be thinking? Compare it to your own life. When I grew up I was in ___________ neighborhood. All my peers liked ___________. I liked ________. See what I mean? The girls he spent time with and around probably were not black and when his friends came to him describing the baddest girl they had ever seen she probably wasn't black so even if both of his parents were from an african american or "black" backround he would probably be with whatever he was around and most attracted to. There is a lot of imprinting that is done unconciously during the years of adolescence and his environment and friends have a big impact on that. Not to mention who knows what he was being told at home... If his mother is not black, why should his wife be black? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and his cultural upbringing had to include customs from both parents since he grew up with both parents and if you know anything about his father's backround or his mother's culture, that says alot about who Tiger Woods or any man is. Food for thought...

    Wow! I am amazed at people... Sincerely amazed and ashamed. Question. WHAT MAKES TIGER WOODS BLACK? Does your answer to that question also make you black or non-black? (He doesn't even consider him black so how is this a black vs white incident? Hmmm) On what authority can you be a judge of him? Is your house so in order that you can have an opinion? The point is that this is a man who lived, overcame adversity, married, had children and was unfaithful. Sounds like a lot of men who grew up and did the same thing. Where does ethnicity play a role in everyday events. I don't see where anything special or race specific happened in his case. There was no ethnic inequality or ethnic issues at play. There are moral and ethical issues presented to the world as a family in crisis and from where I sit that has nothing to do with race or marriage preference and it is a problem affecting a great majority of Americans. If someone starts a chat like this it would seem to me that they are using this opportunity to vent their own racist points of view as if to antagonize a group of people and taunt them with age old offenses to get a reaction. Well, you got a reaction but your point is invalid in this case. Race did not play a factor in fornication or adultry and the discussion should be more focused on building good moral character and rebuilding families and sheltering innocent children affected by lust and power driven parents.

All women want to know that people think they are beautiful......" What? No one (man or woman) is responsible for building a "black woman's confidence". No other human being should be tasked with making a woman (of any color) feel good about herself. Beauty will show from the inside out (if there is any there) and it (beauty) is in the eye of the beholder! Physical attractiveness (and all the external attributes) is not the alpha nor omega of beauty!

    Black, White, Green or Polka Dot! Who cares! He is a man who has his preference for whatever the reason...He is suffering enough as it is without the added "colorful" comments about his decision to marry a white nanny. Wonder why other nannies are not outraged that he would choose a nanny from another country as opposed to a nanny from the US! Let it go people, there are lots of other things to worry about than Tiger Woods, his wife and his preferences! Enough!

    Yes, I am so glad to read that many women are ready to face the fact that black women are not portrayed by the media as having natural beauty and that it is an affront to us. Unless our hair is straightened or weaved and our skin is light we are often marginalized or excluded in commercials, movies and in print ads. Robert Dinero is just one of a few famous bold men who has enough self confidence to decide for himself and not let advertisers dictate his choices. And Tiger Woods is just one of many black men who turn to caucasian women as soon as they can financially afford to. And it is very painful to see our daughters and nieces being subjected to this same awful alienation. To those men who love our natural hair, skin color, full lips and body shapes, I say God Bless you. We love you too!

    Tiger Woods is not black and doesn't consider himself black..so why should the "black community" care?? He would probably take a dump on a black person before he said hello to them. And even if he was a black down "brother", so what? We have more important things to think about other than who Tiger Woods is screwing. Besides, he has taken this Elin chick from a useless nanny to one of the richest, most famous women in the world. She needs to be grateful that he even married her. She should be kissing his feet right now. If she's going to divorce him, he'll just do like Trump does and get another wife who will probably be more paid than she is. Look, The fact that Tiger has busted his butt all these years and revolutionized the sport of golf and is a self made billionaire should allow him to have some fun on the side. Elin needs to shut up and stop playing victim. This is how things work.You marry one of the richest, most famous men in the world with no love (Uh Hem - can you say gold digger), this is what you get. The "Black Community" does not care.

    Brownclown i agree with everything you stated. That is one of the reason, I do not buy my neice barbies and the likes. I want her to know her self worth and be proud of how she looks and all of her from her naturally curly hair to her brown toes. I dont want her to grow up thinking that white women are the epitome of beauty, therefore trying to emulate that image. In the white community maybe/yes but not in my family. Too much brainwashing and sadly for others the damage is irreversible. Self hate is a powerful thing. A little food for thought; to others who might want to judge. The other day my 7yr old niece went home crying to her mom (my sis)that she wanted her hair straight. Gasp! why was the big question, her answer, because a boy in her class is teasing and calling her bushy head. Granted she does have a lot of hair, and her mom wanted to just let it go because of the hot summer days. But she was not having it. I personally love her "big bush" it is a sight for sore eyes. I am not condoning self hate, but promoting self love, and it has to start somewhere.

    Responding to Athena, nice name by the way. I have to disagree w/u on the Boris Becker front. Although he does marry women from a racially mixed background, preferably blk, those women are also of German heritage just like himself. So how is that looking to find another "race." Another thing, has Becker ever denied being German, Tiger has denied being part of who he is on national TV. one luv

I don't think "Black Americans" can answer the question because Black men may have their answers and Black women will have theirs and they more than likely will be different. As a Black women, I'm fine with Tiger or any Black man dating/marrying women that aren't Black. However, in the case of Tiger, it kind of (in a weird way) would have been nice to see a Black woman thrown into the mix simply because it would have shown that he does think Black women are beautiful. Maybe he doesn't think that but that preception displayed throughout the media would have been nice... It's nice to know that people think Black women are beautiful. It builds our confidence and makes us feel good. All women want to know that people think they are beautiful. Black women know they're beautiful but we don't see a lot of our beauty in the media and sometimes it appears as if just the opposite is being communicated when we see so many Black men in the media not choosing to have a Black woman by their side. I don't date exclusively outside my ethnic group, I think that's strange. It almost makes a statement that you don't like your ethnicity so you're going to go get the ethnicity that's prefered. I do however date men that are interested in me and usually those aren't Black men. So what is a Black woman suppose to do? Just go with the flow... I hope the day never comes where all humans are mixed into an ethnic group that looks the same because I truly believe our physical differences are what makes us beautiful. It's unfortunate the story isn't more about Tiger's cheating ways instead of who he's cheated with... I'm sorry for blabbing on and maybe some of what I said didn't make sense but I was trying to speak from the heart and off the cuff. Peace...

    I don't care if Tiger's wife was green. When will our thinking about each other emerge out of the Stone Ages, and stop thinking so primitively about human beings. Why do we even ask questions like feeling alienated by tiger because of his White wife? If there is a Black woman out there who does feel alienated by his preference, then she needs to have her head examined. Tiger does not belong to anyone- but Tiger Woods. The only thing he has in common with Black people is pigmented skin (melanin). Categorizing people by race should be inhumane and needs to be stopped. RE: Tiger, he is a horny cheating mess, and any wife would be hurt by what he did. I feel sorry for his wife. I know what she is going through.

    Tiger's preoccupation with white women was revealed long before he got married. I think that some although not all black women ARE sensitive to the notion that white women are seen as a prize possession by all races. Not just Tiger Woods. Men of power have more choices than anyone, yet regardless of their ethnicity, they typically go for white women. That is because Madison Avenue advertisers have positioned white women as the symbol of beauty. Fortunately, many men are immune to this brainwashing. Of course black women would be offended. The media has been denying us the God given right to be desirable.

    WHY IS THERE NO MENTION OF TIGER'S PARENTS' RESPONSIBILITY IN ALL THIS? I've watched a biographical film about his childhood, and what I saw was that his parents taught him to be "colour blind." When you teach that to a child, you are basically asking them to deny their racial and cultural heritage. His parents didn't raise him with a strong racial identity. No wonder he's so confused. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PREFERRING TO DATE OUTSIDE YOUR RACE, AND COMPLETELY ALIENATING YOUR OWN RACE TOTALLY. Whilst I'm not AA myself, I do understand why they would feel alienated by Tiger's choices. When a group of people has been and still is - oppressed, marginalised, discriminated against, it is a very human and natural response to feel rejected when one of your very few successful and famous members, chooses not to associate with you. If you had a childhood friend who due to one parent being of a different race, or after they have made it financially in life chose not to hang out with you any longer, would you not feel rejected? BY THE WAY..... Thai people DO feel isolated by Tiger's choice of wife and mistresses. Many Whites DO object to Robert DeNiro's preferrence for black women. They just don't have the guts to say it our loud. King Solomon's aids and subjects DID object to him coverting with Queen Makeba of Sheeba for not being Jewish. They heavily criticized her "Pagan" practices which subsequently led to her demise from the Kingdom. Fast forward 2009, to marry a Jewish man, you have to convert to Judaism. As for HAIR COLOUR, brunettes and red heads DO feel alienated by the glorification and adulation for blonds. Complexes galore! Hence the fake blonds all over the place. Full figured women DO feel very alienated for men's preference skinny women. Hence the prevalence of "ANOREXIA" and "BULIMIA". I constantly hear poor men COMPLAINING about women's preference for wealthier men. So obviously they feel alienated too. THIS IS NOT A TOPIC THAT SHOULD BE RIDICULED, DISMISSED OF CONSIDERED IRRELEVANT. These are existing issues that we have to deal with one way or another - debate being a good start. ONE LAST THING! BEWARE OF ANYONE WHO CLAIMS NOT TO DATE MEMBERS OF THEIR OWN RACE AND ONLY TO PREFER MEMBERS OF ANOTHER RACE. OFTEN, YOU WILL OBSERVE THAT SUCH PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR A "RACE" and not a "PERSON" and will often be attracted to or interested in EVERY OTHER ATTRACTIVE MEMBER OF THAT RACE. Tiger Woods and Boris Becker here in Europe are primary examples. Also, ask yourself WHY this person has rejected a part of themselves.

    First, of all black radio personnel do not represent the entire black community. Why should anyone on a IR dating site care. That is kind of contradictory. Tiger, has never associated with the black community. Which does not bother me because I don't know him. So why are we wasting precious energy on this debate. We are all God's children and at the end of the day, we all bleed read. Stop the Willie Lynch mentality and come into 2010. A new year is around the corner.

    Thanks for the comments folks. I do have to adress one more thing about "Tiger being this all around great guy". Check out U-tube and look at a Payton Manning video interview on a local Indianapolis radio station. (yes the Payton Manning, quarterback of the Indinapolis Colts). He talks about how he "ran into Tiger" on a few golf courses. The only remaark he made was to the effect that he is distant and not friendly at all. Even after introducing himself on more than one occasion. The second point is to all of those golf fans. Phil Michaelson and his caddy team has had several run-ins with Tiger on the course. The "squabbles" got so bad that at the Masters Tournament a year or so ago that the commitee fined Woods and his caddy for verbal harassment during play. To the tune of over $100 grand. It seems as if Woods instructs his caddies to try to disrupt Michaelson during play by verbal abuse according to the comittee after an investigation. Also anyone who follows golf knows Woods is a great player. But I have never heard ANYONE talk about his "warm and inviting personality".

    P.S. @oldschool56, thank you! Thank you for calling out the bunny. For many black women, being on this site has less to do with not wanting black men and more to do with preferring white men (or other races of men). It's a preference probably based on experience and a desire for something opposite in visual appearance, same in needs, values and lifestyle.

To Everyone: There are so many people to choose from in this world, and especially now with the Internet, unlimited cell plans, video conferencing and rapid travel, we can each access so many people in our business and personal lives. (It actually may become a problem that people have TOO many choices.) And Tiger's mixed heritage doesn't matter because everybody is mixed on some level. Our skin color and national/racial/cultural heritage have nothing to do with WHO we REALLY are. Just with who society tells us we should think we are. If everyone's sight was removed, we would only know people by their content. Race is purely visual. And in Tiger's case, if all these women are indeed his "lovers," I doubt it was about skin color or them thinking he had a preference for blonds; but rather he is a wealthy, successful, young man. They just want access to the fame and money. Jilted women don't come forward to trot their relationship in front of the world unless they are after something. Sad thing they're forgetting is the Internet and media live forever. Years from now, people will still be able to access their video interviews, and if they're searching for a job, and their new employer has issues with adultery, well we know the drill. It's all just sad how some men and women can't just seek honest, healthy relationships and be happy when they get one.

    I am a White guy who ONLY dates Black Woman!!! How any guy can Date white Woman is a mistery to me, have they ever seen a Black, Sexy, Beautiful Sister?? My original comments were, in my opinion, the majority of the black community as well as the majority of the white community does not like the idea of Tiger Woods dating interacially. It also shows that the majority of white women these days are just whores that go to the highest bidder. If you have any doubts turn on the TV or go to your neighborhood bar on any given night of the week. The majority of white womens behavior is dispayed in perfect detail! But the Tiger fiasco thing is good for me since many of the fine black women "sitting on the sidelines" will now come over to my camp!     Casnovanat, how do you figure "the original blood was black blood", and how do you account for the universality of red blood today? It's been over 60 years since the Red Cross, which has probably been more involved with blood than any other single agancy on earth - repudiated the notion that blood came in different colors, or that it was in any way related to race.

    Melliot, you are COMPLETELY wrong!! I was extremely attracted to highly intelligent Black men. My first boyfriend at Northwestern University was a mathematics major and brilliant. My father by the way was the first Black man to write his Phd at the Sorbonne in Paris for mathematics and he hung out with great jazz musicians, writers and artists in Paris - AND plays chess which he taught me as a child. And I might add that he is ripped and handsome until today. I find intellectual and talented Black men extremely attractive. When I was in high school and college I was bored sick with all of the Black men who believed that they had to play into the racist/sexist stereotypes of Black machismo and realms of physical prowess to which they were confined for generations to be "real men"(i.e. the stereotypes that confined Black men to breeding (origins of myths of sexual prowess), sports, and entertainment. In fact, it more than bored me in high school and college, I found it tragic. I wish that there were more Black men (and men in general for that matter) who had the courage to free themselves from such shallow stereotypes of manhood and go deeper!!!

    Wow, Again we have a company line response with no change in though process, formulation, or perception. First, i will not address the foolish remark that I am trying to disuade anyone from dating AA women. My comments regarding Mr. Woods's were solely to give circumstances that possibly led to him seeking involvement with certain types of women. Secondly, for any Sister to consider that a nerdy AA man who was part of the high school chess and gold teams was acceptabble to AA women as ideal dating material in the height of the media induced gangster rap era in America is simply utterly foolish and illogical. Mr. Woods quite simply was not what the overwhelming majority of AA women were seeking as Black masculinity at that time. Reality is reality and perhaps getting away from those company lines you have gotten so use to throwing out there everytime has engulfed your ability to be free thinking. Up until the late 90's the overwhelming majority of African Americans in America resided in inner city urban communities of America. These communities took to hip/gangster rap music with a fervor which allowed the music and culture to grow and blossom. This culture turned on certain characteristics that represented membership within the cutlutre. This is no different from the hippie culture of the 60's which turned on certan characteristincs within the membership group. Therefore, in the context of the gangster rap cluture that took off in Black America black masculinity was largely defind by theis culture and women of this culture embrced the new concepts of the redefined black masculinity as the3 overwhelming influence of this new culture has no counter culture influential enough to overcome the gangster rap culture. Does the D in your name stand for denial as you seek to denial of the social characteristincs which came out of theis culture and how such characteristics impaced the Black culture majority living in the inner citiy communities? To assert that you never did such things therefore the majority of Black women were not influenced by the gangster rap culture is utterly insane and furthermore concerns me regarding your awareness of time, place, and history occuring around you. Again we have another company line that anytime any person of any racial background makes a comment regarding AA women they come back with the "You have a low opinion of black women line". It is very predictable conveyant and shows no ability of free thought, but to alsways follow a systematic pattern of group mentality response without giving it any though. D dont be a sheep run outside the flock and come up withy our own thoughts. Once again D stop again giving he company lines about mentorship. AA Americans do not need to stand over AA children and give them special attention no more that Whites, Asians, Indians, or Middle Eastern people do. It is not the responsibility to and celeb to make sure Black children are headed int he right direction and to do so shows that Black children require some form of special attention or care other children don't. By asserting such views over what Black children need to be successful, taxpaying adults implies a deep belief by you that Black children are somehow inferior to children of other races and require special attention. The children asylum seekers from Rwanda, Dafur, Somalia and other war torn African countries have seen more death and destruction than any African American child will ever see. However, these children do well in American schools and do not need some mentor to do right. Hmmm D I feel another AA woman company line comming on Hmmm lets see. . .
