blogging.jpgWhy would someone have an interracial dating blog? I’ll be honest… that was my first feeling before I started out. It was an odd idea and my biggest worry was how I was going to write an entire blog on the subject. How much could I possibly say? That I met a white guy, we hit it off, we got married, now we’re living happily ever after… THE END?

Well when I got to it, I found there were quite a load of things to write about… the myths, the stereotypes, the list is endless. I had never thought that people actually think they are not attractive enough to date a different race. I had heard the usual….. “white men just want black women for sex�? thing, but I was shocked to find that there are more myths.

The thing that really got me going was my readers. You guys give me inspiration and your comments are honest and I get most of my ideas from them. And one thing I admire about you guys is the fact that you are not afraid to criticize (but go easy once in a while… I am a fragile one ;-) ).

Now I understand why one should have an interracial dating blog. To share and to learn from other people’s experiences when faced with rejection and ridicule from society.

Much as I don’t write about interracial stuff entirely, I do hope that I keep you well entertained when I veer off the main subject. Question is, how do you feel about interracial dating blogs? How do you feel about the blog? Where do you applause Ria, and where can Ria improve?

    I'm a well built body-building white muscleboy who has learned to respect the Black Man and his White Women,the hard way. Black Men,including the skinny-wiry types are not intimidated of big muscles on a white boy! Getting my face slapped by one for not giving my seat up in a movie theatre proved that to me!

    I like the blog for a less obvious reason. You get a feel of the personality of some fellow searchers that might make you click or say wheeeeeeewwww, glad I said NO to his flirt. And some frequent replyers whom I dare not name, definitely keep me laughing at their angst and humor.

    Reading your Blogs and comments to them , brings back memories of the 1970 's . When I dated a very Nice Black Ladie who worked across the street from my apartment in Houston . We went out to Dinner many times / Dutch treat because neither of us was abundantly blessed with cash . We went shopping together and would hang out in the city parks listening to music . Once in a while we went dancing for the evening . We were friends not Lovers and we were friends for years . I got married and we never saw each other because we moved away from that part of downtown to the suburbs .

    so glad that there is this blog..i am a product of dating interracial all my life..for real, was even honored to be a part of a movie that came out last year on hbo called interracial dating in america..i do have a blog re this as well on myspace, and it is very interesting as to the reasons why society and some ignorant people think why we date outside our race.. everything to sex, size, fears insecurities, and so on to name a few... wish i can put some clips of my ovie on here that would be a real eye opener.. thanks

    Hi all, you guys don't have problems, this interracial thing is just taking off here in South Africa, and boy do we have a lot of fun. In the Malls you see people dodging pillars at the last moment because they were watching a white guy and black woman walking by holding hands and don't look where they going. A huge problem we have here is that Black woman are sexually very attractive to white men, and white men are financially very attractive to the black woman, and that puts a massive strain on any potential interracial dating, hopefully thing will sort themselves out in years to come.

    Thanks for bringing this up, Ria: I greatly appreciate your efforts here, as well as the wide-ranging and often amazingly insightful views brought out by your blog. I have learned a lot here, enjoyed myself and gained a feel for some of the people who make up our community, for community it is. I think this site is an example of a renaissance that is occuring in parts of our society and the mutual understanding we gain here not only enhances our lives but those who see us and are inspired, as well. You help by shining a compassionate light on many aspects of ethnic relations, dating and living a good, considered life, Ria. That is so important to us all because many of these things, when brought to light are not scary but commonalities we can embrace in each other.     Hi Ria, Thanks for the blog. We need it. Anyway, I've been on the interracial dating website for about three months and it's just not happening. One guy even wanted to know if I liked feet...I also wonder about the 1-3am mesages, but I'm trying not make too many judgements... Anyway, I am trying to keep an open mind. In fact, I opened up my preferences to more ethnicities, but I've also fine-tuned my own. I'd like people to share what works for them. I especially want to hear from the men.
