Men say "I love you" first more often…

i love you … and love to hear those words… especially before sex.

We all like to believe that women drop the “L” word faster than men do in relationships, right? WRONG! That is one stereotype you need to dump real fast - that's according to a study carried out recently anyway.

After surveying about 100 undergraduates at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and 47 heterosexual couples of all ages, between 61 and 70 percent of the respondents confirmed that the men said “I love you” first in their past and current relationships; on average: like 42 days before women do.

The researchers also reported in the June Journal of Personality and Social Psychology that men got a bigger thrill hearing their partners confess their undying love just before sex in comparison to after. I guess men get that much big a thrill from hearing these words before sex because it somehow feels like a promise of getting some much sooner. As for women, they love hearing the “L” word after the couple has started having sex because somehow it signifies commitment.

Do you think men say I love you first ONLY because it comes with the promise of getting some action in the near future? Ladies, whether he says it just to get some, don't you just love it when he says it first? I know I do. ;-)

“Men say “I love you” first more often…” As they should say it first. Arriving at the decision to "love" another is a different journey for men than women. It's like this: Women determine how far you go in a relationship, but Men determine how fast you get there!! That men say it anticipating sex is almost a moot point. If the relationship included celibacy, the same thing would happen...men would proclaim love FIRST...if his woman deferred to him, giving him the chance--even if she felt it first.

I Love for you is a statement of intent for any given intimate relationship.

It's often good to express Love practically, but no matter how much, or what way you express Love; you are only going to have a trigger down effect internally when you do it verbally.

Men say it first, because they think women want to hear it. I think you can really only say you love someone when having sex. I think that's when you fall in love. If you like someone telling them you love them when having sex is the easiest thing in the world to do. If you have sex with a girl and she never says she loves you, then dump her fast. I was with two different women. One for 2.4 years and another for 4.5 years and neithersaid they loved me. Both were whores. Whores can't love anyone.
