We have heard so much about interracial couples being discriminated against. Most of us have fallen victim of such racial discrimination. Well I got news for you… better put on your dancing shoes, call upon your friends coz this one deserves a party yo!!! Here it is…
Two landlords, John and Betty Ireton are facing a lawsuit from the Ohio Civil Rights Commission for attempting to evict Diana Dunkle, who is white and has two children. The reason for the eviction was because she had more than one child and her boyfriend was black. Good thing is Ms. Dunkle had it in her to fight for her tenant rights.
“Our investigation showed that the landlords did not serve the eviction notice to Ms. Dunkle or have a problem with her having two children in the three-bedroom home until a short time after the black boyfriend visited,” said Fair Housing Advocates Association Executive Director Vincent Curry, in a news release.
Dunkle’s eviction notice was served Oct. 18, 2005, two days after her boyfriend visited Oct. 16. Apparently the landlords concerns about Ms. Dunkle having two children were just but a pretext for the race discrimination.
Now aint that something to throw a bash for? Am glad that civil rights are being recognized. So I’ll say it again… like Akon says it “Fight for our rights to love yeah!!â€?. I gotta do a little dance over here… somebody stop me…

It’s great to see someone get it in the end (the right way) for discrimination. I am going thru something similar right now and it helps me have hope when I have to deal with my case.

Hope that justice will be served. This type of discrimination is getting old.

I’m so glad this woman stood up to her landlord and proceeded to take legal action. So often people just accept situations like this and throw their hands up and say what can I do? If more people were willing to take a stand, people like this landlord might think twice about treating people this way.

Wow! I’m sorry that this happened to her…unfortunately the end to racism is not on the brink and goes beyond the typical American Black vs White. **sigh** If we keep doing our part (being fair and just to all) then there is hope.

sad thing is my ex-fiance considers himself black (50%) except no one else does because of how fair skinned he is.. so when I pointed it out to him he had a hard time understanding it becuase “i’m black too…”
OHHkay.
It was a nightmare that I had to buy my way out of.
When he went to apply for the mortgage loan.. I stayed home.
