Macy Gray says her seemingly anti-trans comments on Piers Morgan's show were "grossly misunderstood"
Macy Gray has just addressed her controversial and seemingly anti-trans comments she made on TalkTV's Piers Morgan Uncensored on July 4th, saying her remarks were "grossly misunderstood"…
"I have nothing but love for the LGBTQ+ and transgender community and have been a supporter since day one," the 54-year-old musician said in a statement.

"My statement on Piers Morgan was grossly misunderstood," she continued.
"I don’t hate anyone. I respect everyone’s right to feel comfortable in their bodies and live their own truth."
If you cast your minds back to the episode, you'll remember that Piers Morgan said that "we’re in an era now basically where most public figures are too terrified to say what they think a woman is," which Macy agreed with, before giving her own opinion about what she personally thinks being a woman requires…
"I’d say a human being with boobs. You have to start there," she told the talk show host. "And a vagina! That’s getting confusing."
"I will say this and everyone’s gonna hate me, but as a woman, just because you go change your [body] parts, doesn’t make you a woman, sorry…I know that for a fact," she continued.
"Like if you want me to call you a 'her,' I will, ‘cause that’s what you want, but that doesn’t make you a woman just ‘cause I call you a 'her' and just because you got a surgery."
The I Try singer even went on to say that her comments don’t mean that she is transphobic (perhaps she was already anticipating that her comments would cause a huge stir) adding: "And I don’t think you should be called transphobic just because you don’t agree with, you know … there’s a lot of judgement and throwing stones at people for just saying what it is."
Following her apology statement, Macy Gray addressed the controversy even further, by taking to social media on July 6th to tell her haters to "f*** off"…
She wrote: "All of you coming on my page, threatening me and calling me names – just becuz I said something you don’t agree with – be whatever you wana be, and [f***] off."

Macy Gray spoke the unadulterated truth of biological reality and should have never apologized~!!! As we regress into greater cultural and civil nihilism and self-destruction, REAL science for some time now has been sacrificed to the alter of an ideological drive to collapse our social and moral order into a collectivist cesspool of Orwellian control of humanity... An important factual point Macy Gray and anyone else who speaks out should add, other than never apologizing, is to emphasize how when virtually all humans from inception (other than an extremely rare version of a hermaphrodite), are granted either XX (female) or XY (male) chromosomes, which dictates the genetic code of every cell of the human body... You cannot surgically change away, or wish away, or imagine away, or identify away, or affirm away, the biological reality of your genetics, whether you like it or not, period... Macy gray should have not only skipped the apology, but she should have just jumped to the statement of what she expressed July 6 to her haters on social media... Peace be upon you... :-)

Completely agree with Macy. The point about being a "grown-up" and living your life, is that you should have learned the basic lessons through school an parents of how to accept people are different, and that you might not agree with their viewpoint. It does not give you the right to threaten or abuse someone just because their view is different to yours. Current attitudes are not helped by a perception that in order to defend your ideas or culture, you basically have to annihilate anyone that opposes your views. That is the sort of tyranny we have seen through 2 World Wars, and ongoing conflicts in Africa, Asia and in Europe. The tyrants never win, and in the end if you fall on that side of the fence, you need to reset your worldview, because you will always be seen by the majority of people as small-minded, uneducated and unwilling to communicate with people.
