It’s not just a female thing. Men have menopause too!

Male menopause? They say it’s real!

For years, menopause has been dubbed a “woman’s condition” but it seems men also experience a decline in testosterone hormone levels as they match into their 40s. This causes ‘andropause’ which affects approximately 5 million dudes in the U.S. of A only.

Lucky enough, hormonal decline in men isn’t as abrupt as it is in women. But one thing for sure, waning testosterone may cause mood swings, irritability and depression in men. And besides the moods, it increases the risk for heart disease and makes a man more susceptible to injury because of decreasing bone density.

Andropause isn’t mid-life crisis. And not every man experiencing a decline in testosterone can be said to have it. It is a medical condition which is diagnosed with a blood test that reveals testosterone levels below a certain level. Hormone replacement therapy can be done if one is diagnosed with it.

One thing for sure that is associated with waning testosterone is a decrease in libido since testosterone is what stokes the flames of desire. Much as they occur around the same time, andropause shouldn’t be confused with erectile dysfunction (ED) either. Viagra may improve erectile ability but as men grow older, it won’t give them the desire to have sex because Viagra doesn't heighten testosterone levels.

If you aint having sex the way you were when you were 20 or 30, nothing is wrong. Instead, try embracing a deeper kind of intimacy with your spouse and open yourself to a different experience of sex … aging has its rewards too. Sex evolves with the passage of life.

If this is a totally new phenomenon for you, read Jed Diamond's "Surviving Male Menopause: A Guide for Women and Men".

It is far better to allow your body to have control over its hormone production... instead of taking testosterone! I have spent years studying vitamins in regards to health, and natural bodybuilding. For me it is very simple to boost my body's level of testosterone, and human growth hormone. All I have to do is take DHEA at night to boost my testosterone. Plus I take Melatonin plus L Trytophan to put me into a deeper REM. Deeper REM equals higher human growth hormone production. When I stop doing this I look my age sigh. When I am on it I look at least ten years younger plus a very healthy sex drive. Viagra is nice but it does not boost your sex drive like keeping young does. Don

WOW... so you can't pro-create...but you arent going to be able to anyway... .....since you so oily...no woman going to want to touch you! Hey, the good part is that you come prepared since you pre-lubed! The bonus is you won't get her pregnant. Wow...prelubed and no prenatal needs! Very cool!

The simple thing for a man concerned about this to do is visit an HRT clinic that specializes in ADROPAUSE. A bi-monthly injection of testsosterone will keep you at the same level of the typical 20 year old male. Dont listen to the nay-sayers in regards to side effects. When administered and monitored by a physician, there are few side effects, other than decreased sperm count and increased skin oiliness.

I'm glad I took the time to read this. I have used Lavitra and it does work, but now I see that guys can have any possible ED problems corrected with hormone treatment. I have been told taking anything like Lavitra frequently is not a good thing. And I haven't in over a year. But why take risks when there is an alternative. Taking Vigra should be a last resort when all else fails.

OMG Whurr! I had no idea men were going through something like this. So does this mean that if I get with an older guy, my chances of great sex might be diminished? That's not cool. Just curious. I do appreciate the fact that men are, in a sense being forced by this, into developing a more intimate relationship as opposed to strictly sex being their form of intimacy. It's almost ironic, and maybe it should occur earlier in life for them. If that happened, there might not be so many single dating sites around.

@kenyanito You may not have ever been with an American guy. We have ballz the size of horseballz. Its hard to populate them... so the end result is this menopause thing. Now if we had small ballz like our Canadian neighbors, we wouldn't have this menopause issue! just wanted to clear that up
