Celebrity relationships - should we struggle to be all kissy?

Posted by Ria, 11 Apr

Lights … Camera … Action! When it comes to media spotlight, do we really get what we see?

Imagine girls that starve themselves to look like cover models on some glamorous magazine. Now lets take a look at celebrity relationships on the spotlight … should everyday couples attempt to live their lives like the kissy-kissy celebrity couples on US Weekly.

Find your soulmate on AfroRomance

We live in a world of glossy ads and it won’t come as a surprise to find that the smiley infamous couples we see in celebrity magazines don’t always mean a happy twosome. My point is: much as your dude can’t buy you a beach house on your anniversary or your chick can’t get you those season tickets to your favorite sports team doesn’t mean you aint happy coulple. In fact you may just be surprised to find that you are a lot happier than the spot light couples. Well, the grass aint always greener.

I am sure you have a celebrity couple that you love to look up to. Question is, how fast do celebz get divorced? Celebrities are just normal human beings but their lifestyles are anything but normal. Just take a moment and let me know a celebrities that have been together for over 15 years ... I am sure you can count them with your fingers.

So enjoy your relationship and quit basing on what you see on TV. It aint all glamorous... trust me.

Till next time…

Celebrity couples, eh? Never met one myself, so how exactly is one to copy what one sees on TV or the movies?

I base nothing on what I see on TV & I loathe celebrities, especially hearing about their relationships. There is enough in my own reality to be concerned about. The people that I meet & chat with have interests in their life & try to learn, move forward & still enjoy entertaintment without taking it too seriously. Let's pay less attention to celebrities & more attention to people who need our help in the real world. Wait, sorry, I said all this already. Good.

Whaaaaaat!?! Look to celebrities as role models for relationships? You must be crazy. There are very few in the limelight that I would even use as a model for what they do to get there, much less how they act once they are there, and about nil for love. 'Course I don't recommend my life as a textbook for any of the three either.

This question is not for me as I loathe celebrity couples. It is not entirely their fault. The media keeps pushing this nonsense in our faces in the news, TV, magazines, internet. Obviously, this is very important to a lot of people. Entertainment is fine, but this mindless overkill detacts people's attention from important issues such as their own relationships, their children, Iraq conflict, horrors in Darfur, human rights issues especially in Tibet, escalating gas & food prices, more expensive medical care & on & on. I don't mean to be preachy on a romance website but please, I don't have time to look up to moronic celebrities !

They are the same as you and I...their lives are just high-lighted,which can be a disadvantage. We've all been through the good and bad of a relatonship. Those are the trials of life and love.

Yeah the same is true for non celebrity couples. Just cause you see them all happy and grinning and kissy face doesn't mean they actually have the best relationship.

I think that celebrities shouldn't be looked up to or considered a role model regardless of the reasons
